The City Theatre (Dutch: Stadsschouwburg) is the main cultural venue of Sint-Niklaas, within a stone's throw from the Main Square.
The City Theatre is housed in a corner building adjoining and formerly part of the Academy of Fine Arts. It was built at the end of the 19th century. It is part of a protected cityscape together with the buildings of the Sint-Jozef-Klein-Seminarie across the street.
Every week a range of performances takes place, from theater to music, dance, comedy, circus,... The staircase and corridors with the famous 'Unicorn' by Waaslandian artists' duo Weyers & Borms often provide temporary exhibitions.
