Historical Pipe & Tobacco Museum

Expo
Social media sharing

This museum houses a very extensive collection, focused on the culture of smoking throughout the ages. It is the museum par excellence for those who want to know everything about smoking tobacco. The unique collection shows the development of the clay pipe from 1492 to the present. The cigar production and tobacco cultivation in Belgium are also widely discussed. In the years 1921 to 1969, the cigar industry in Sint-Niklaas flourished with more than 3.000 active cigar rollers.

Many interesting pieces of the museum come from the Mignot & De Block factory, formerly located in the Regentiestraat. To end your visit to the museum, you can enjoy a local beer or drink in the Reynaertsalon. Immerse yourself in the large collection of water pipes, tobacco pots and other curiosities.

Open every first and third Sunday of the month, from 10 am to 1 pm. For groups also by appointment via the tourist information office on the Market Square.
